Mapping

Special 1 slice mask

(In Output > Advanced)

1) Select the slice you want the mask on

2) At top:  ‘Input Selection’ tab

3) on right: select mask (pencil icon is best)

4) To edit: must be in ‘Input selection’ > ‘Edit points’ tab at top

      Note:          must be in ‘Outpu transformation’ to see effect

Using a‘polygon’ to map

1) ‘+‘ pull-down > Polygon (pencil)

2) ‘Input selection’ Trace outline

3) ‘Output Transformation’ > ‘Edit point’ …..   Move individual points

Content

Masks

Alpha blends

Used for putting a soft edge around something

Genrally it works the ‘easiest’, if you create a Group just for the Alpha-slice

Note: In ‘Advanced output; Change the Main slices input from ‘Compersition’ to the relevant Group

Mask a colour

  • Colours: ChromaKey
  • Black: CromaKey > ‘Blend mode’ > Luma Key

      Black: AutoMask

  • White: AutoMask > invert

Mask layer

To mask off all layers below a mask lay, too only show conent through a determined shape

Black slide with an ‘alpa’ shap

Using a black and wihte image…

  • On the layer chand the mix method from ‘ADD’ to ’50 Mask’

Mask clip

Using a black and wihte image…

  • Apply from the ‘Effects menu’ > Automask   
  • Note: One the Automask menu, you may have to click ‘invert’

Compunication

MIDI

Used by Midi boards to comunicate to resumu

Allows Resolume to comunicate with Midi based devices

DMX

OSC

Setup OSC:

Arena >  Prefrences > OSC

Master:

OSC output: ‘IP address’ or ‘Ruby resolume areana’

outgoing port: 7001

Slave:

OSC input / incoming port: 7001

Set OSC triggers

On Master

1) Shortcuts > OSC 

2) Pic any purple item

3) Bottm left box > Shortcuts > pulldown at top > Pick: “1224 Seiko master’

4) Shortcuts > OSC

5) Test.

     Note: On ‘Slace’ Arena >  Prefrences > OSC > top right arrow 

                Shows incoming signals

OSC Master file.

A file, where all the simple information is already mapped

Copy the Master.xml to both matines
